EXPOMIN attended a Workshop on “Best Practices on Mining Policies and Technologies”, organized in Brussels by the European Commission
In Brussels, Belgium on October 15 – 16, 2015, the DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the European Commission organized a workshop on “Best Practices on Mining Policies and Technologies”, in the context of its Raw Materials Initiative.
The event included three parallel sessions: Best Practices on Good Governance; Mineral Knowledge Base, Data Availability and Management; and Mining Waste Management and Mine Rehabilitation. Over 115 representatives attended from government, mining, technological companies and universities of the 24 EU members, as well as speakers from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Peru, South Africa and United States.
Armando Valenzuela, Director of AL Prospecta Consultores Ltda., and EXPOMIN advisor and technical coordinator for Congress EXPOMIN 2016 was a speaker at the “Mining Waste Management and Mine Rehabilitation” session and his presentation reviewed the environmental regulations established in Chile affecting copper mining industry, as well as initiatives for waste management with focus in metal recovery.
Also, he introduced the EXPOMIN 2016 Congress technical program, with focus on the 4th International Workshop about “Metal Recovery from Mining Waste – M2R2”, inviting the attendees to take part in this important exhibition and congress organized by FISA S.A., to be held on April 25-29, in Santiago, Chile, www.congreso.expomin.cl
