Mining fundamental pillar for the developement and progress
XIV version of the International Exhibition and Congress EXPOMIN 2016
FISA has started preparations for the XIV version of the International Exhibition and Congress EXPOMIN 2016, www.expomin.cl, the main mining exhibition in Latin America and one of the most important of the world, it will be held between Monday 25 and Friday 29 of April 2016 in Santiago, Chile.
The International Congress EXPOMIN 2016 “Sustainability and Productivity: keys to modern mining” is headed in this new version by the CEO of mining Doña Inés de Collahuasi, Jorge Gómez.
Our country is a global mining power, leading copper production at 32% of the world’s supply, being the third largest producer of molybdenum and occupying prominent places among other metallic minerals (gold, silver, iron) and non-metallic (nitrate, iodine, lithium, etc.).
Today the sector faces a number of challenges that affect their leadership and dynamism in terms of attracting investments and productive development.
Issues like lack of supply and high costs of critical inputs (energy, water, capital goods and engineering services), a more complex relationship with communities, productivity rates with an increasing effect on production costs and administrations and more environmental requirements, among others, will be addressed by senior representatives from the public and private sectors of the mining industry in a total of 12 sessions.
